What Do Bikers and Churches Have in Common?

Think about a biker dude; wearing black denim, black boots, a leather jacket, and a long white beard. Now think of him in a church—preaching. Isn’t it the best match? Well, that is exactly what is happening. You too can buy leather jackets and join in if you want.

Most bikers don’t go to church as they stand out too much and people always stare or even make rude comments. That is why the bikers started a church of their own. It started from a hotel in Brewer, Maine and now the Biker Church USA is conducted in a huge, old brick building in Bangor, Maine. What was
once just a small group of bikers studying bible has now become a major operation.

The pastor of the church talks about why the church was started and what it has become now. In the early days, it was just a mission to reach bikers. Now they teach the bible regularly and offer various services to the people in need. One of the things that prompted the building of this church was the
stereotype that bikers have always had. That image got stuck and something had to be done about it.
